It depends on the length of the recording. You don’t have to wait: once it has uploaded you can close the page, and it carries on.
Yes. While you check it, rename a chapter, move where it starts, split or join chapters, and fix any word. After you keep it, you can still rename, fix words, swap an icon, and add music, a sound or a pause. Nothing goes to your Yoto until you press Send.
No words, pauses or breaths are cut. Clean-up evens out the volume and takes out background noise and clicks. Your original recording is kept, and clean-up is optional.
Yes. Connect your Yoto account once, send a story to your Yoto library, then link a Make Your Own card in the Yoto app. For Tonies, download the audio and add it to a Creative-Tonie in the tonies app. You don’t need either: the download plays anywhere.

Yes. Your audio and stories are private to your account. The only sharing is a story you choose to send to a friend, and you can take that link back. We never sell your information. The privacy page says who helps us and what each one receives.
Tinker uses AI for the fiddly jobs: writing down the words in your recording, finding where chapters start, suggesting their titles, drawing the icons, taking out background noise, and, if you ask for them, drawing a cover or writing a first draft. Some of that runs on our own servers; the rest uses services from other companies, and the privacy page lists each one and what it receives. Nothing it makes is final. You can change every title, word, icon and chapter break, and nothing goes to your Yoto until you press Send. Your recordings are never used for training, and never used to make a copy of your voice.
